Almería offers some wonderful opportunities forthose
who enjoy rural tourism, based on the diversity of itslandscape, geography
and natural reserves. Visitors who are not so keen on beaches or who wish
to have new holiday experiences will find a wide array of sierras and
natural parks to visit. Sierra Nevada and the Sierra María-Los
Vélez Natural Park are good examples of this, in which the vegetation
and fauna spur visitors to practice active tourism. Visitors who choose
inland Almería as their holiday destination will enjoy the charm
of the white villages, the peace and calm that prevails within them and
the customs and traditions of their people, especially hospitable and
affable. The towns and fishing villages will seem like images projected

Tabernas Desert would be ideal.

and campers must be in possession of
the relevant camping permit granted by the Environmental
Agency.

People who wish to be in close contact with nature without
giving up comfor tand amenities will find their place in the province’s
rural houses. These are found in all variety of areas, affording every
opportunity for active tourism, as well as facilitating visits to natural
areas and parks and Almería’s beaches. In addition, these
lodgings will allow visitors to see for themselves the typical customs
and crafts of the people of the towns.
