Punta Entinas-Sabinar Natural Area and Reserve

This is a 10 kilometre strip of coast just to the west of the resort town of Roquetas del Mar. And the question here is: how can two adjacent places be so different? In the natural area even in the height of summer you will practically have the beach to yourself. Walk along the beach from Roquetas or drive inland a little through the plastic greenhouses and turn back to the coast towards the small lighthouse. Geographically this strip of coast is not particularly interesting because it is flat. The sand dunes and the isolation make it ideal for bird watching.

At the west end the reserve itself is located. Obviously, natural reserves offer the greatest level of environmental protection. It is logical, therefore, that to enter a nature reserve special permission is required from the warden of the reserve.
